Montpellier is finally going to be able to move forward with a bit more clarity. The French club, which passed without issue in front of the DNCG last week, is approaching a positive outcome with the arrival of English investment fund GSS.

The discussions with GSS have progressed well, to the point where an agreement is close to being finalized within the next seventy-two hours, according to a source close to the file. The two parties would have started talking through American Daniel Karbassiyoon.

Why is this important for Montpellier?

This arrival could give a boost to the club's finances and sporting strategy, currently 8th in Ligue 2 with 51 points, 14 wins, 9 losses, and 11 draws in 34 games, and a goal difference of +10.

What comes next?
